Job Description

About Our Client: Our client offers a complete line of pipe supports and strut products that serve the plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection markets.

Position Scope:

Based in the GTA, the primary focus of the Sales and Business Development Specialist is to grow the company’s industrial and commercial sales by actively pursuing major projects where their products and services are involved. This position will be responsible for attracting new customers, increasing the spend of existing customers, and identifying new business opportunities for the company to pursue. The role supports all business segments of the company with the overall aim to growing the business.

Responsibilities:

• Promote our client’s brand and generate business opportunities across the GTA territory with mechanical and fire protection contractors, engineers, and wholesalers alike.
• Actively pursue and drive sales by identifying and then pursuing major industrial, commercial, and institutional projects across the territory.
• Actively service a book of commercial distribution customers.
• Create pull through sales opportunities by meeting with commercial contractors and promoting their products and services.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key contractors and engineering firms in all major cities in the GTA and track projects accordingly.
• Travel the territory regularly following the projects and scheduling appointments with customers, engineers, and contractors.
• Preparing and delivering of presentations, breakfast sessions and lunch & learns as required.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to read/understand technical drawings and perform simple take-offs
• Strong negotiating skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Education and Experience:

• Minimum five years’ experience in the plumbing / mechanical industry dealing with Distribution, Mechanical Contractors and Engineers
